SDR Ventures acts as Financial Advisor to Mountain Steel & Supply Co. in Sale to Drake-Williams Steel

Denver, CO – February 2011 – SDR Ventures, Inc., a Denver-based investment banking firm, announced the sale of Mountain Steel and Supply Co. of Denver (“Mountain Steel”) to Drake-Williams Steel of Omaha (“Drake-Williams”).

Mountain Steel is a 33 year-old certified structural steel fabricator, contract manufacturer, and field erector located in Denver, CO. Key Mountain Steel employees and equipment will be moved to Drake-Williams’ Aurora plant, and the local operation will be known as “Drake-Williams Steel – Mountain Steel Division.”

“Drake-Williams, with over 250,000 square feet of production area in Omaha, is a traditional player in the large project steel market,” a company statement said. “The Mountain Steel Division will result in an enterprise that also serves the small project market as well as offering the products and services of a steel service center.”

SDR Ventures served as a financial advisor to Mountain Steel and assisted in several aspects of the sale process, including identifying and sourcing acquisition targets, developing the client’ s sale strategy, and presenting the opportunity to buyers.
