SDR Ventures offers a premier intern program during fall and spring semesters. Interns are viewed as key members of the team, and are provided with hands-on participation in client meetings, capital formation, buy side and sell side mandates, and principal debt underwriting.

At SDR, I learned that investment banking is more than just valuation and closing deals but rather it’s about execution intelligence. SDR spends a significant amount of time making sure they understand the client’s business and industry by continually working with clients even before they approach SDR for a massive engagement. Specifically, SDR’s managing directors who have both operated companies of their own have taught me that business experience cannot be substituted by deal experience. Further, while I gained many hard skills like new valuation techniques and advanced research skills, I also learned about the rigor and tenacity that is needed to succeed in investment banking. Overall, I enjoyed working with people who had true integrity and made it a priority that everything they did was honest and in line with their character. As I move on in my career I hope that I can take what I learned about rigor, tenacity, execution intelligence, and most importantly integrity on to my future.
